Novosonic Festival

A festival rooted in the university campus

The Novosonic Festival is a unique musical event that takes root in the heart of the Nevers university campus, on the ISAT (Higher Institute of Automobile and Transport) site. Supported by the University of Burgundy and its cultural service Atheneum, this free festival illustrates the university's commitment to culture and musical discovery, while promoting the Nevers campus as a place of life and creativity.

A springboard for emerging music

Novosonic's primary mission is to highlight emerging music: developing bands and artists, new musical aesthetics, bold creative projects. The programming mixes independent rock, pop, electro, folk, chanson, and world music, offering an eclectic panorama of contemporary musical creation. Each edition is an opportunity to discover artists who may become tomorrow's headliners, in a relaxed setting that fosters proximity between artists and the public.

Open-air concerts on campus

The concerts take place outdoors on the ISAT campus, creating a relaxed and festive atmosphere that contrasts with more conventional festival formats. The open space allows for smooth circulation between stages, catering areas, and relaxation zones, inviting spectators to experience the festival at their own pace. Food stalls and pop-up bars complete the setup for a full evening.

A unifying event for the campus and the city

Novosonic goes beyond the strictly university framework to open up to the entire population of Nevers. By welcoming students, residents, and visitors for free, the festival creates a bridge between the campus and the city, contributing to the integration of the university community into the urban fabric and to the cultural animation of Nevers at the start of September. Atheneum, the cultural center of the University of Burgundy, supports this event as part of its annual programming dedicated to performing arts and current music across all Burgundian campuses.
