Festival of World Cultures

43rd Edition — Summer 2026

The 43rd edition of the Voiron-Chartreuse World Cultures Festival will take place from June 26 to July 4, 2026. Organized by the ATP Salmorenc association, the festival welcomes traditional music and dance groups from five continents every summer. For 2026, the invited countries are Bulgaria, Chile, Martinique, the Czech Republic, and Vietnam.

A week of celebration and encounters

For about ten days, Voiron and the communes of Chartreuse will live to the rhythm of world cultures: opening ceremony, concert-ball, street performances, workshops, meetings with artists, gala show at Le Grand Angle, and closing ceremony. Beyond the performances, the festival focuses on conviviality with meals at locals' homes, entertainment in companies in the Pays voironnais, and outdoor highlights.

Friday, June 26, 2026 — Opening Ceremony

• Festival opening ceremony
• Concert-ball animated by musicians from the invited countries (Bulgaria, Chile, Martinique, Czech Republic, Vietnam)
• Craft market and gourmet market open at night

Sunday, June 28, 2026 — Ascent to Vouise

• Ascent to Vouise for a musical picnic with the groups
• Meals at locals' homes: evenings of encounters between residents and artists from the invited countries

Monday, June 29, 2026

• Morning performance reserved for schoolchildren at Le Grand Angle
• In the evening: open-air cinema (performance by an invited group followed by the screening of a film from that country)

Tuesday, June 30, 2026

• Concerts in companies in the Pays voironnais

Throughout the week (until July 4)

• Street performances and entertainment in Voiron city center and the communes of Chartreuse
• Dance and music workshops open to all
• Gala show at Le Grand Angle (intercommunal performance hall, Place des Arcades, Voiron)
• Festive closing ceremony

Confirmed invited countries (Bulgaria, Chile, Martinique, Czech Republic, Vietnam) and outline of highlights announced by the organizer and the Pays voironnais tourist office. Details of each group's schedule and the full gala program will be communicated on the official website and ticketing as the festival approaches.
