25th Edition — Saturday, August 2, 2025
For its 25th anniversary, the Festival Vallée et Veillée confirmed the vitality of a popular and free event rooted in one of France's most beautiful medieval villages. On Saturday, August 2, 2025, the Place du Marché au Blé in Noyers-sur-Serein welcomed between 800 and 1,000 spectators who came to celebrate a quarter-century of festive and danceable music on the cobblestones of the medieval town.
Program for the 25th Edition
Four high-quality acts took turns on the stage set up in the heart of the village:
- Les Sales Gosses — The duo formed by a mischievous violinist and a playful accordionist opened the evening with a repertoire of humorous and touching arrangements, blending light virtuosity and communicative complicity. A warm opening that immediately put the audience in the mood.
- Teófilo Chantre — A true legend of Cap-Verdian world music, Teófilo Chantre is one of the most important composers of music from the Cape Verde archipelago, having written many hits for Cesária Évora. On the Place du Marché au Blé, he offered a captivating journey through bossa, coladeira, and morna, typical Cap-Verdian genres, carried by his warm voice and his exceptional musicians.
- Zeph — The groove, afrobeat, and funk band electrified the audience with a concert focused on cosmic journeys. Inspired by the giants Fela Kuti and the Soul Jazz Orchestra, Zeph develops a musical vocabulary blending afrobeat, funk, hip-hop, and jazz, driven by a powerful brass section and an irresistible sense of collective groove.
- LGMX — The electro-acoustic brass band concluded the night with a bang. Nine musicians with diverse aesthetics, brought together since 2018 to recreate the energy of techno, house, and psytrance in live acoustic form, transformed the Place du Marché au Blé into an open-air dance floor under the Burgundian stars.
A Quarter Century of Popular Celebration
This 25th anniversary was an opportunity to celebrate the remarkable longevity of a free festival consistently maintained by the association La Belle du Serein. Two and a half decades of eclectic and quality programming, on the same cobblestones, in the same spirit — popular, inclusive, and demanding — have forged a unique identity for this event that has never needed ticketing to fill the Place du Marché au Blé.
