There is no edition scheduled in 2026 for this event. This page remains accessible to archive the history of the manifestation and will be updated if a new edition is announced.
ℹ️ Event stopped — festival committee dissolved in 2024. During our editorial check (May 2026), we found no public source (town hall, community agenda, local press) announcing an upcoming edition of the Écharcon Festival. The association that organized it, the Comité des Fêtes d'Écharcon, was officially dissolved on July 9, 2024. This page is kept for historical purposes. If a new edition were to be organized, we would update the page.
Écharcon (91540) is a charming rural town of about 800 inhabitants, located in the Val d'Essonne, about twenty kilometers south of Évry. This village belongs to the Communauté de Communes du Val d'Essonne and is distinguished by its preserved character and natural environment, not far from the Fontainebleau forest. For many years, the commune celebrated its village festival organized by the Comité des Fêtes d'Écharcon, a local association that perpetuated the tradition of village festivals.
The Comité des Fêtes d'Écharcon, located at 16 bis Clos des Tilleuls, was the association organizing the commune's festivities. Created in 1990, for over three decades it mobilized local volunteers to design and animate the village festival. The association was dissolved on July 9, 2024 (dissolution published in the Journal officiel on July 23, 2024), putting an end to the regular organization of this event.
The Écharcon Festival offered a program suitable for all ages. Children found fun activities and outdoor games. Adults enjoyed a friendly setting with a country meal or buffet, in the traditional spirit of village festivals that encourage meeting and sharing. Musical entertainment and group games completed the program. The festival generally took place outdoors, in the village's green setting, during the warmer months.
The Val d'Essonne is a remarkable natural region, crossed by the Essonne river in a landscape of hedgerows, forests, and agricultural land. Écharcon shares this territory with communes such as Mennecy, D'Huison-Longueville, and Vert-le-Petit. This preserved rural setting gave the Écharcon Festival its authentic character and its atmosphere of a typical rural Île-de-France village festival, increasingly rare as urbanization progresses in the department.
