The Fête de la Chasse et de la Nature returns to Salers in July 2025. On the program: presentation of over 150 hunting dogs, falconry show with golden eagle, ball-trap, archery, fishing initiation, Saint Hubert mass, and an exhibition on Cantal's fauna.
Fête de la Chasse et de la Nature 2025
On Sunday, July 20, 2025, the village of Salers hosts a new edition of the Fête de la Chasse et de la Nature, organized by the hunting societies of Salers, Fontanges, and Saint-Paul-de-Salers.
This day dedicated to the canine world and nature offers a complete program: Saint Hubert mass at the Saint-Mathieu church accompanied by the horns of the Débuché du Cantal, presentation of over 150 hunting dogs, falconry show with golden eagle, ball-trap and archery stands, fishing initiation, and an exhibition on Cantal's fauna.
Programme
Provisional Program 2025
- Morning: Saint Hubert mass at the Saint-Mathieu church of Salers, accompanied by the hunting horns of the Débuché du Cantal
- 9 AM - 6 PM: Exhibition on Cantal's fauna
- All day: Canine presentation (150+ hunting dogs of all breeds)
- All day: Falconry show with golden eagle and birds of prey in free flight
- Afternoon: Ball-trap open to all
- All day: Archery and fishing initiation
- All day: Association stands: underground hunting, big game hunting, bloodhound handlers
- All day: Professional exhibitors in the village streets
- Noon: Barbecue and country meal
- Evening: Festive meal with orchestra (upon reservation)
