Villepinte's summer festival and grand funfair
Villepinte, a town of 37,000 inhabitants in northern Seine-Saint-Denis, has forged its own festive identity, marked by two flagship events that structure its popular calendar: the summer festival organized each summer in its green spaces, and the funfair, a true local institution renowned as the largest in the department.
The town maintains a special relationship with popular festivities, fueled by a tradition of conviviality and sharing rooted in local life. Its parks — particularly the Parc de la Pépinière — offer an ideal natural setting for summer activities, while its main streets transform into a funfair playground in the autumn.
On June 21st, Villepinte celebrates music on the Esplanade Bel Air with a program of open-air concerts starting at 7 PM. Local and regional artists perform on stage in a relaxed and festive atmosphere, while the Pépinière park hosts a children's festival simultaneously from 10 AM to 4 PM.
This dual celebration — concerts for adults in the evening, activities for children during the day — perfectly illustrates the town's festive philosophy: offering each generation a program tailored to their desires and needs, in an accessible and free setting.
In the autumn, Villepinte hosts its funfair, which has become over the years the largest in Seine-Saint-Denis. With its panoramic Ferris wheel offering breathtaking views of the town and the Eiffel Tower, its ghost train, its thrill rides over 40 meters high, its bumper cars, its duck fishing games, and its numerous food trucks, it attracts visitors from across the department and beyond.
The funfair is an eagerly awaited event for the whole family: children delight in all sorts of rides, teenagers challenge the thrill attractions, and adults rediscover with pleasure the flavors and emotions of their childhood. It is generally held from mid-October to early November.
Beyond these festive moments, Villepinte develops a municipal cultural season offering shows, exhibitions, and concerts throughout the year. The town hall regularly communicates about its events via its official website and local communication channels, ensuring residents have accessible and comprehensive information about the town's cultural life.
The Villepinte 2026 Festival celebrates the Fête de la Musique on Sunday, June 21st, on the Esplanade Bel Air, with free open-air concerts, while the pépinière park hosts a day of activities for children.
