The Fête de la Saint-Éloi 2025 once again proved the vitality of this Provençal tradition in the heart of the village of Le Beausset. At the end of July, the commune came alive from dawn to prepare the final details of this major community gathering that mobilizes all generations.
The blessing of horses and vehicles opened the festivities in the morning, bringing together owners and animals for this ancestral ritual that places human and animal activity under divine protection. Magnificently harnessed and decorated horses, tractors, and cars paraded before the parish priest in a moment of mingled reverence and pride.
The afternoon was dominated by the grand procession of flowered carts, the climax of the festivities. Floral creations of striking beauty, the result of several weeks of volunteer work, paraded through the village streets pulled by horses with harnesses adorned with multicolored ribbons. The crowd gathered on the sidewalks cheered each cart, admiring the creativity and care put into the floral decoration. Folk groups in Provençal costumes and brass bands enlivened the procession with their songs and dances, in an atmosphere of simple and infectious joy.
