Edition 2025 — Alègre Médiéval

The 33rd edition of Alègre Médiéval took place on Saturday, July 19th and Sunday, July 20th, 2025, in the heart of the village of Allègre, a Petite Cité de Caractère in Haute-Loire. The program included: medieval encampments, knight fights, street shows with the troupes Les Goliards, La Garde du Cerf Ailé, L'Auberge des Poissards, Les Aboyeurs, ILC-La Cité, La Corne Percée, Vitae Genus, and L'Orientissime Jean Dubois. Saturday began with a cannon firing at 11 AM, followed by activities from 2 PM to midnight, a grand medieval banquet at 7 PM, a fire show, and a period ball in the evening. On Sunday, festivities ran from 10 AM to 7 PM. The artisan and medieval market animated the village throughout the weekend.

33rd Edition - Alègre Médiéval 2025

The 33rd edition of the Fêtes Médiévales d'Allègre was held on July 19th and 20th, 2025, in the exceptional setting of the village of Allègre, at the foot of the castle ruins and the historic Potence.

  • ILC-La Cité: Camp life and demonstrations.
  • La Corne Percée: Medieval music.
  • Vitae Genus: Historical reenactment.
  • L'Orientissime Jean Dubois: Show and storytelling.

Highlights

Opening by cannon fire on Saturday at 11 AM, followed by two days of activities: fights, music, dances, street shows, archery, calligraphy, basket weaving, blacksmithing, cannon firings, and trebuchet candy throws. The grand medieval banquet on Saturday evening at 7 PM brought guests together for the traditional Puy sausage and lentils, followed by a fire show and a period ball. The artisan and medieval market offered period objects and flavors throughout the weekend. Conferences on the theme of fear in the Middle Ages were presented by the Association des Amis d'Allègre.
