38th Edition — June 2025, Venezuela in the Spotlight
The 38th edition of the Festival International de Musique Universitaire unfolded in the streets of Belfort from June 5 to 8, 2025, welcoming over 1,000 musicians from nearly 40 countries. Despite some characteristic Pentecost showers, the 2025 edition was hailed as a great success by regular festival-goers.
Venezuela Celebrated
The guest of honor country for 2025 was Venezuela, highlighted with the help of godmother La Chica, a Franco-Venezuelan artist recognized on the international scene. Three Venezuelan groups made the trip: Raúl Monsalve y Los Forajidos (fusion of Afro-Venezuelan rhythms and electric jazz) and two other traditional music ensembles, offering the Belfort audience an immersion into the rich musical heritage of South America.
220 Free Concerts
On the Place d'Armes, in the Petite Hollande park, and in the pedestrian streets of the city center, the stages vibrated continuously. Jazz, classical, world, folk, pop, and contemporary music followed one another in an eclectic and accessible program, true to the spirit of FIMU.
