International rockabilly, rock'n'roll and country festival in Ain
Good Rockin' Tonight is the only international festival in France entirely dedicated to the pioneers of 1950s rock'n'roll and country. Organized by the Blue Monday association in Lagnieu since 2003, it offers five days of rockabilly, western swing, country hillbilly and rock'n'roll with American, European and French artists. Beyond the music, the festival offers a journey back in time with fifties dance parties, a pin-up parade, American car exhibitions and a vintage market.
For over twenty years, Good Rockin' Tonight has been rocking the Ain department to the rhythms of rockabilly, rock'n'roll and country from the 1950s. Unique in France, this international festival has become a reference for all enthusiasts of post-war American music, attracting artists and festival-goers from around the world each year.
Created in 2003 by the Blue Monday association based in Lagnieu, the festival was born from the passion of a handful of fifties music devotees. Over the years, it has grown into a major event on the European rockabilly circuit while preserving its original convivial and authentic spirit.
Long established in Bourg-en-Bresse, notably at the Ainterexpo exhibition center (Hall Ekinox), then in Attignat, the festival took a new step in 2026 by moving to Espace 1500 in Ambérieu-en-Bugey, a dedicated performance venue offering an even more immersive experience.
Each edition features a remarkable lineup blending American legends and European talents. The festival regularly invites artists from the United States, the birthplace of rock'n'roll, for exclusive French concerts. Over the years, iconic musicians such as Hayden Thompson, Bobby Brooks Wilson, Levi Dexter, Boz Boorer, Sonny George, Eddie Angel, Chuck Mead and many others have graced the festival stage.
Beyond American headliners, over twenty French and European bands perform across the five days, covering the full spectrum of fifties genres: rockabilly, western swing, country hillbilly, rockin' blues, neo-rockabilly, rock'n'roll and more.
Good Rockin' Tonight stands out for its total vintage atmosphere:
Good Rockin' Tonight perfectly embodies the rockabilly and vintage culture spirit: a close-knit, passionate and welcoming community that gathers each year to celebrate this timeless music together.
