38th Edition — July 2025, "The Black Knight"
The Journées Médiévales de Brebotte brought together 6,800 spectators from July 17 to 19, 2025, for its 38th edition. The chosen theme, "The Black Knight", offered a sound and light show of rare intensity, involving over 100 male and female extras in period costume.
An Epic Show
The evening show on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday at 10 PM immersed the audience in the chivalrous world of the Middle Ages. Knights in armor, foot soldiers, horse jousts, sword fights against a backdrop of orchestral music and historical commentary: all punctuated by special effects and a breathtaking final pyromusical firework display.
The Medieval Village
On Friday and Saturday afternoons, the medieval village hosted nearly ten costumed artisans working in front of the public. Children could explore about twenty fun workshops: archery, illumination, blacksmithing, period costumes. Falconry demonstrations and the equestrian tournament completed an afternoon rich in discoveries.
