Electronic music and art in the heart of a 19th-century fort in the Aisne region
Keskival is an electronic music and art festival that takes over the Fort de Mons-en-Laonnois, a 19th-century Séré de Rivières fortification in the Aisne region, every September. Organized by the association Oblok, it offers over 60 hours of music across 3 days and 2 stages with more than 25 artists — DJs, live acts, and performances. The Village hosts about fifteen exhibitors, a 'made in Keski' food service, and a bar. Intimate and immersive, Keskival transforms the fort into a space for encounters and artistic experimentation.
Keskival was born from the association Oblok's desire to create a space for encounter, interaction, and energy transfer around electronic music and art in general. After initial nomadic editions — notably in July 2022 in the Paris region (2nd edition) and in June 2023 at the Abbaye de la Clarté-Dieu in Saint-Paterne-Racan (Indre-et-Loire) — the festival found its home at the Fort de Mons-en-Laonnois, an imposing Séré de Rivières type fortification built between 1879 and 1883 in the town of Mons-en-Laonnois in the Aisne region. Since 2024, this fort, demilitarized in 1998 and purchased by the municipality in 2000, has hosted Keskival every September.
Each year, Keskival offers over 60 hours of music spread across 3 days and 2 stages, featuring more than 25 musical artists. The programming explores the realms of techno, house, experimental electro, and electronic music in its broadest sense, with a strong emphasis on emerging artists and unique proposals. The casemates, courtyards, and ramparts of the fort are transformed for a weekend into open-air dancefloors, adorned with immersive decorations and light installations.
Beyond music, Keskival celebrates art in all its forms. The Village brings together about fifteen exhibitors showcasing their work — visual installations, digital art, plastic creations. A 'made in Keski' food service offers carefully curated and original cuisine, while a bar run by passionate volunteers maintains the festival's convivial spirit. Relaxation areas are dotted around the site, allowing festival-goers to unwind between sets.
Driven by the association Oblok, Keskival embodies a model of an independent, human-scale festival. Shuttles from Paris are organized to facilitate access to the fort, located between Laon and Soissons. Camping is available on-site for a complete weekend experience. The festival benefits from the exceptional setting of the fort, perched at 188 meters altitude, offering a remarkable panorama of the Aisne countryside. Each edition is an immersion into a world where music, art, and heritage intertwine.
