On August 15, 2025, the medieval town of Lautrec, listed among the Most Beautiful Villages of France, hosted its Bread and Taste Festival. Artisanal bakers from all over the department and local producers from Tarn set up their stalls in the picturesque village streets for a day of free gastronomic celebration. The bread market showcased a fine diversity of artisanal creations — sourdough breads, brioches, Occitan specialties — while the best croissant competition brought together competing artisans before a discerning jury and a large crowd. Traditional baking demonstrations introduced young and old to the ancestral craft techniques, in the convivial atmosphere of a medieval village celebrating on Assumption Day.
