A Reference Textile Fair in Limousin

The Village de Points Pluriels is more than just an exhibition: it's a true thread arts fair that brings together enthusiasts and the curious around textile creation in all its forms. Organized by the Aix-based association Points Pluriels, founded over twenty years ago, this event has become a must-attend for lovers of embroidery, patchwork, and textile arts in Nouvelle-Aquitaine.

A Comprehensive Overview of Thread Arts

The fair offers a remarkably complete panorama of textile techniques. Traditional embroidery and cross-stitch are showcased alongside patchwork and quilting, while contemporary textile art pushes the boundaries of creation. Visitors can also discover works of cartonnage, textile framing, and scrapbooking, demonstrating the richness and diversity of manual skills. Each edition highlights a different theme — the "World Tour" in 2013, for example, led to the creation of sumptuous embroidered banners representing all continents.

Creations Between Tradition and Modernity

One of the strengths of the Village de Points Pluriels lies in the dialogue it establishes between tradition and modernity. Members of the association present works that showcase ancestral know-how — cross-stitch embroidery, bobbin lace, tapestry — while exploring contemporary techniques such as textile art, natural dyeing, or mixed media. The embroidered banners, true collective works, have been exhibited in prestigious venues like the Longpont-sur-Orge basilica, attesting to the level of excellence achieved by the creators from Aixe.

Aixe-sur-Vienne, Land of Craftsmanship and Heritage

Nestled at the confluence of the Vienne and Aixe rivers, fifteen kilometers southwest of Limoges, Aixe-sur-Vienne is a town of character whose artisanal history dates back to the Middle Ages. The town has a centuries-old tradition of textile work and manual arts, carried today by a dynamic associative fabric. The Centre Culturel Jacques Prévert, which hosts the fair, provides an ideal setting to showcase these delicate creations in a bright and accessible space for all.

A Friendly and Family Event

Free admission and a warm atmosphere make the Village de Points Pluriels a truly popular event. A raffle with numerous artisanal prizes, a refreshment area, and light catering allow visitors to extend their stay pleasantly. Enthusiasts exchange tips and tricks, novices discover the joys of thread, and children explore the pleasure of manual creation. A human-scale fair where transmission and sharing are the watchwords.
