2025 Edition — Classical music at the heart of the castle
Summer 2025 saw the Lourmarin Music Festival unfold its program in the unparalleled setting of the Château de Lourmarin. From early July to late August, a series of classical music recitals and concerts offered music lovers from Provence and neighboring regions exceptional musical evenings.
The castle's Great Hall, with its monumental fireplaces and white stone walls, hosted piano recitals featuring talented performers. Sonatas by Beethoven, nocturnes by Chopin, characteristic pieces by Schumann, and études by Debussy resonated in this hall where the beauty of the Renaissance architecture naturally conversed with the music.
Chamber music concerts—piano-violin duos, trios, quartets—completed the program, bringing the great works of chamber repertoire to the castle: sonatas by Brahms, quintets by Schubert, quartets by Mozart. Each concert was preceded by a brief presentation of the program by the artists or a musicologist, allowing listeners to better appreciate the performed works.
The atmosphere of Lourmarin in summer—the lively narrow streets, the terraces of restaurants and cafes, the golden light of the Luberon—made each concert evening a complete moment of Provençal bliss, combining musical pleasure with the joy of living.
