Edition 2024 — Medieval Festival of Chaumont
4th edition of the Medieval Festival of the Counts of Champagne. For the first time at square Philippe Lebon, the event becomes free and offers béhourd fights, a medieval market, street shows, and activities for the whole family.
4th Edition: A New Lease of Life at Square Philippe Lebon
The 4th edition of the Medieval Festival of the Counts of Champagne was held on June 8 and 9, 2024, in a new location: square Philippe Lebon, opposite the castle of the Counts of Champagne. This move from the streets of old Chaumont was motivated by organizational and safety reasons, offering a more spacious and suitable setting.
A major innovation for this edition: entry became free to attract the largest possible number of visitors. The program included béhourd fights, a recreated medieval village with about forty stalls, parkour and dance shows, workshops for children (wooden games, stained glass, flax spinning), and guided tours "Chaumont, the beautiful medieval city" through the old town, the basilica, and the keep. Several thousand spectators responded.
