Free open-air concerts on June 21, 2026, in French Guiana
Every June 21, Cayenne celebrates the Fête de la Musique (Music Festival): free open-air concerts in the streets, bars, and cultural venues of the prefecture of French Guiana. Organized by the City of Cayenne and the Nomade association, the evening usually takes place at the Anse Chaton site and blends music from French Guiana and the Caribbean with all styles, in a festive atmosphere that lasts until the end of the night. The event is entirely free.
Like everywhere in France since 1982, the Fête de la Musique transforms the city of Cayenne into an open-air stage every June 21. In French Guiana, the tropical heat extends the celebration late into the night: amateur musicians, local bands, and established artists play for free to celebrate all sounds, from kasékò to funk, zouk to reggae, traditional percussion to electro.
The City of Cayenne and the Nomade association usually host a large free open-air stage at the Anse Chaton site, by the sea, with an associative bar and on-site catering. The evening unfolds over several hours and brings together music from French Guiana and the Caribbean with an eclectic program. The celebration also extends to the bars, cafes, and cultural venues in the city center.
