The Fête de la Musique in Saint-Laurent-du-Maroni
As everywhere in France since 1982, the Fête de la Musique transforms the sub-prefecture of western Guyane into an open-air stage every June 21. Music freely takes over public spaces in the early evening, across all genres and for all audiences, to the mixed rhythms characteristic of Guyane.
A celebration in the heart of the city
Usually, Place Baudin and the city center host open-air concerts, featuring performances by the Municipal School of Music and Dance and local artists. The festival brings together brass bands, dance groups, and ensembles from the many cultures that make up the city.
