Free concerts in all neighborhoods on June 21, 2026
Every June 21, Saint-Paul, on the west coast of La Réunion, celebrates the Fête de la Musique outdoors. From the Débarcadère and the seafront to the upper neighborhoods, several free stages resonate with maloya, séga, seggae, reggae, pop, and variety music, performed by the island's local talents. The day is entirely free and open to all.
As everywhere in France since 1982, the Fête de la Musique transforms the city into an open-air stage every June 21. In Saint-Paul, the largest commune in La Réunion, music freely takes over public spaces in the late afternoon and evening, reaching all audiences and all genres.
As the Saint-Paul territory is vast, the festival is not concentrated in a single spot: several stages are simultaneously set up in the city center and in the neighborhoods, from the coast to the upper areas. The Débarcadère and the seafront host the main events, extended by local stages in Plateau-Caillou, l'Hermitage, Boucan, Bois-de-Nèfles, and in the outlying areas.
The program highlights local talents — amateur artists, emerging groups, and passionate musicians — featuring music from the Indian Ocean (maloya, séga, seggae) and more widely shared styles (reggae, pop, variety).
The Fête de la Musique 2026 in Saint-Paul will take place on Sunday, June 21, starting from 3 PM, free of charge throughout the commune. Several stages will animate the Débarcadère, the seafront, and the neighborhoods, from the coast to the highlands, featuring maloya, séga, seggae, reggae, pop, and variety music.
The festival will unfold across several stages distributed throughout the commune, from the coast to the highland neighborhoods. Here's an overview of the venues announced for the 2026 edition:
The historic heart of the festival in Saint-Paul, the Débarcadère and the seafront host the main events, with concerts featuring local artists and established groups from the island.
A neighborhood stage in the highlands, open to local talents and emerging groups, starting in the mid-afternoon.
A stage by the lagoon, in the Hermitage seaside area.
Several local stages complete the setup in the commune's neighborhoods and outlying areas (notably towards Boucan, Bois-de-Nèfles, Savanna, la Saline, and the Vue Belle sector), with open platforms for amateur musicians.
In terms of aesthetics, the program prominently features music from the Indian Ocean — maloya, séga, seggae — alongside reggae, pop, and variety music.
