First Edition — July 30 to August 6, 2023

For its first edition, the Musiques pour faire plaisir! festival settled on the banks of the Loire, between Beaugency and Mer, from July 30 to August 6, 2023. The program, structured around the theme of nature, offered a musical journey in five parts:

  • Forest: Brahms Trio
  • Animals: Excerpts from Carmen, Chabrier's La Pastorale des cochons roses, Landowski's La Chanson de Pérote
  • Water: Works by Takemitsu, Debussy, and Milhaud
  • Time: Vivaldi and Haydn
  • Universe and Humanity: Jolivet, Rossini, Mozart, Rodrigo

The Artists

Tenor Albin Menant, pianists Jean-François Ballèvre and Jean-François Bouvery, flutist Elena Stojceska, clarinetist Carjez Gerretsen, and guitarist Romain Petiot led this first edition. A youth concert and cultural activities led by a wind quintet in the Loiret and Loir-et-Cher departments completed the program.
