Musiques pour faire plaisir ! : Classical Music at the Heart of the Loire Valley

Born in 2020 in the aftermath of the lockdown to combat cultural desertification, the ensemble Musiques pour faire plaisir ! Val de Loire (MPFP!) brings together high-level musicians around bassoonist Vincent Legoupil, the collective's artistic director. Laureates of international competitions and graduates of major European conservatories, these artists share a common conviction: classical and contemporary music must be accessible to all audiences.

A Festival Rooted in the Heritage of the Loire Region

In July 2023, the town of Beaugency hosted the first edition of the MPFP! festival, a true laboratory for the collective's values: accessibility, sharing, pleasure, and eco-responsibility. Since then, the festival has invested heritage and natural sites in the region every summer — churches, collegiate churches, theaters, and parks — in several towns in the Loiret and Loir-et-Cher departments, notably Beaugency, Mer, and Meung-sur-Loire.

A Program Between Tradition and Creation

The programming highlights French composers of the 19th and 20th centuries as well as the international repertoire, from Mozart to Debussy, from Vivaldi to Ravel, including Schubert, Brahms, Rossini, and contemporary creations. The ensemble operates with variable geometry, from sonatas to small orchestras, and includes singers, international soloists, visual artists, and dancers.

Transmission and Young Audiences

True to its mission of transmission, the festival offers participatory concert-workshops for schoolchildren, middle schoolers, and residents of nursing homes. The performance of Prokofiev's Peter and the Wolf, accompanied by live sand drawings, and the youth concert The Song of the Birds illustrate this desire to reach new generations through fun and interactive formats.

Ecology and Culture in Dialogue

The festival is distinguished by its eco-responsible commitment: an environmental charter, promotion of soft mobility and carpooling, and thematic programming around nature and the fragility of life. In 2025, "La Ruche" became a cultural space dedicated to meetings, exchanges, and artistic discovery, with workshops on creation, transmission, and eco-responsibility.

An Open-Air Opera to Conclude the Festival

The highlight of the 2025 edition, Rossini's comic opera Il Signor Bruschino, performed by seven singers and a symphony orchestra in the open air on Beaugency's Place Dunois, confirmed the collective's artistic ambition and its ability to offer high-quality musical experiences in a friendly and accessible setting.
