Guinguette Pause en Loire: The Guinguette Spirit on the Banks of the Loire in Blois
Located at the Port de la Creusille, the oldest port in Blois, the Guinguette Pause en Loire has become a must-visit spot for Blois's summer life. Facing the Pont Jacques Gabriel, with a breathtaking view of the Royal Château, the Saint-Louis Cathedral, and the rooftops of the old town, the guinguette offers an idyllic setting to enjoy sunny days by the water.
A Friendly and Family-Oriented Living Space
From May to September, Pause en Loire offers local and artisanal food — crepes, ice cream, daily specials made with local products — accompanied by refreshing drinks and Loire wines. The space is designed to welcome all generations: a children's playground allows the youngest to have fun while parents enjoy a game of pétanque or simply the view of the river.
Concerts and Summer Entertainment
The guinguette regularly comes alive with aperitif concerts, musical evenings, and festive events. In the summer, it is an integral part of the "Des Lyres d'été" program organized by the City of Blois and the Maison de Bégon, hosting free concert evenings on the water with a varied program mixing pop, folk, world music, hip-hop, and African sounds.
The Guinguette Festival
Each summer, a multi-day Guinguette Festival is organized at the Port de la Creusille site. This highlight brings together artists from various backgrounds for free open-air concerts, popular dances, and festive entertainment that extend the guinguette spirit in a warm and dancing atmosphere. The festival attracts hundreds of spectators who enjoy the long summer evenings by the Loire.
On the Loire à Vélo
Located directly on the Loire à Vélo route, the guinguette is an ideal stopover for cyclists traveling along the Loire. It is also the starting point for boat trips on the river, offering a unique perspective of the city of Blois seen from the water.
