A luminous journey through four centuries of history
Every evening, as night falls, the four wings of the Royal Château of Blois come alive under the projections of the show "Ainsi Blois vous est conté". This exceptional sound and light show reveals the genius of the great builders who, from the 13th to the 17th century, shaped one of the most beautiful architectural ensembles in the Loire Valley: the 13th-century State Room, the Gothic wing of Louis XII, the monumental staircase of Francis I, and the classical wing of Gaston d'Orléans.
A state-of-the-art scenography
The show relies on precise 3D modeling of the castle facades, enabling remarkably fine video mapping. The images adhere to every relief, every mullioned window, every balustrade, transforming stone into a living screen. Remixed music and spatialized voices of renowned actors immerse the spectator in a unique experience. Cinematic techniques—tracking shots, fades, depth effects—give the show a captivating narrative dimension.
Prestigious voices
The narration is carried by three iconic voices from French theater and cinema: Robert Hossein, Pierre Arditi, and Fabrice Luchini. Each embodies an era, a character, a breath, guiding the spectator through court intrigues, royal festivities, and Renaissance dramas.
The history of France projected onto stone
From the medieval fortress of the Counts of Blois to the splendor of the court of Francis I, from the Wars of Religion to the assassination of the Duke of Guise, from Catherine de' Medici to Gaston d'Orléans, the show retraces the major episodes that made Blois a royal capital. The projections bring historical figures, battles, feasts, and plots to life out of the night, in a ballet of light and sound.
International accessibility
Thanks to a system of simultaneous translation into ten languages via audioguide, the show welcomes an international audience. This linguistic openness makes "Ainsi Blois vous est conté" one of the most accessible sound and light shows in the Loire Valley, contributing to Blois's tourism appeal far beyond its borders.
An unmissable event in the Loire Valley
As part of the City of Blois's "Des Lyres d'été" festival, the sound and light show is one of the cultural highlights of the Blois summer season. Accessible to all ages, it offers a lively and spectacular gateway into the history of the Royal Château, a UNESCO World Heritage site as part of the Loire Valley.
