International jazz festival in Montlouis-sur-Loire
Since its creation in 1987, the Festival Jazz en Touraine has established itself as one of the major jazz events in France. Every year in September, the town of Montlouis-sur-Loire vibrates to the rhythm of nearly 50 concerts in 10 days, welcoming artists from all over the world.
The festival's program is open to all jazz styles, from its African-American origins to the most contemporary trends. From gypsy jazz to bebop, from blues to funk, from instrumental to vocal, Jazz en Touraine offers a complete panorama of the richness and diversity of today's jazz.
Each year, the festival hosts musicians from Cuba, Italy, England, the United States, Canada, Nigeria, and of course France. This international dimension makes Jazz en Touraine a place for exchange and meeting between the musical cultures of the world.
The concerts take place in three emblematic spaces:
Beyond Montlouis-sur-Loire, the festival programs OFF concerts in 17 partner towns in Indre-et-Loire. This decentralization allows it to reach a wide audience and to keep jazz alive throughout the Touraine region, with an eclectic selection of groups and artists covering different styles and periods.
In 2025, the festival celebrated its 39th edition, confirming its place among the most important and long-standing jazz festivals in France. Tickets are available online and at the Montlouis/Vouvray Tourist Office.
