Festival IMLI in Candes-Saint-Martin

The Festival IMLI — for Instants Musicaux en Lieux Insolites — is a unique musical event that takes place throughout the year around Candes-Saint-Martin, at the confluence of the Loire and Vienne rivers, in Indre-et-Loire. Supported by the association Ligériens de Cœur, this itinerant festival offers free concerts in carefully selected locations chosen for their exceptional character.

Unusual places as musical settings

The festival's philosophy is based on the encounter between music and extraordinary places. Concerts are held on the banks of the Vienne, in vineyards, troglodyte cellars, private gardens, or heritage sites usually closed to the public. Each location is chosen for its natural acoustics, aesthetics, or history, offering spectators a complete sensory experience.

An eclectic and accessible program

The festival features artists with diverse styles: blues, jazz, rock, Irish music, American standards, and world music. The ensembles are generally small — duos, trios — to adapt to the intimacy of the venues and foster proximity with the audience. Among the artists who have performed are Cotton Howlers (blues and boogie), Syl Trio (dancing blues), and TANAGILA (Irish music and rock).

Free and convivial

All IMLI concerts are free, in line with the association's desire to make music accessible to everyone. This free access, combined with the enchanting setting on the banks of the Loire and Vienne, attracts a loyal and curious audience, comprising locals and visitors alike.
