Boutons d'Art: Art Shared in the Blossières Gardens
Since 2005, the Boutons d'Art Festival has blossomed every September in the Blossières neighborhood, on the border between Ingré and Orléans, driven by the Compagnie Allo Maman Bobo. This open-air performing arts festival was born from a simple and generous idea: to open the private gardens of a residential area to let art in all its forms flourish, for free, as close as possible to the residents.
An Original Concept: Gardens as Stages
The originality of Boutons d'Art lies in its unique staging. Performances do not take place in conventional venues but in the private gardens of the residents of the Blossières and Groues neighborhoods. This proximity creates a rare intimacy between artists and spectators, transforming each performance into a moment of privileged sharing. Courtyards, lawns, and terraces become ephemeral stages where performances unfold.
A Multidisciplinary Program for All Audiences
Each edition offers a rich and eclectic program mixing street theater, storytelling, music, puppetry, clowns, dance, circus, and brass bands. The invited companies, from Orléans and elsewhere, offer shows suitable for all ages—from toddlers to grandparents. Latin American music, fairy tales, physical theater, and musical parades create a festive and surprising artistic journey.
A Commitment to Access to Culture
True to its founding philosophy, the festival is entirely free: artists are paid by hat, meaning through voluntary donations from the audience after each performance. This solidarity-based economic model allows everyone, regardless of income, to enjoy a quality program. The Compagnie Allo Maman Bobo, located at 108 rue de Bourgogne in Orléans, carries out this mission with conviction: to facilitate access to culture for all and to enable everyone to rediscover the magic of live performance.
Twenty Years of Artistic Encounters
Since its creation, Boutons d'Art has continued to grow. The 2024 edition marked the 20th anniversary of the festival, celebrated with an exceptional program. In 2025, the 21st edition continued this beautiful adventure with storytellers, musicians, brass bands, and street theater companies, confirming the festival's place in the cultural landscape of the Orléans metropolitan area.
A Festival Rooted in its Territory
Boutons d'Art is much more than just a cultural event: it is a neighborhood project that fosters social connection, intergenerational encounters, and conviviality. Residents open their gardens, volunteers get involved, neighbors come together. The festival benefits from the support of the City of Orléans, Orléans Métropole, and ADAMI, and contributes to the cultural animation of the western neighborhoods of the agglomeration, in immediate proximity to Ingré.
