The summer guinguette on the banks of the Loire in Chécy
Born in 2023 from a participatory budget project by the City of Chécy, La Petite Luciole is a free summer guinguette located at the Pâtures leisure center, on the banks of the Loire. Every summer, on Friday and Saturday evenings, this friendly and festive gathering offers eclectic live concerts starting at 8:30 PM, accompanied by local food trucks and a bar. The artistic programming, entrusted to Nāga Prod, mixes French song, rock, funk, soul, world music, gypsy jazz, brass bands, and street performances, in a green and shaded setting by the river.
Since 2023, La Petite Luciole has been illuminating Chécy's summer evenings by setting up at the Base de loisirs des Pâtures, in a green and peaceful setting on the banks of the Loire. Born from a participatory budget project by the City of Chécy, this open-air guinguette has quickly become an essential summer spot for the residents of the town and the Orléans metropolitan area.
From early July to late August, La Petite Luciole opens its doors every Friday and Saturday from 7 PM to 11 PM, with a live concert at 8:30 PM. Admission is completely free; only the bar and food services are paid. The artistic programming is managed by Nāga Prod, a recognized company in the local cultural scene, which curates a deliberately eclectic lineup each season to satisfy all audiences.
Over the editions, La Petite Luciole has hosted a wide variety of musical styles and live performances. The first edition in 2023 featured reggae with Sans Rien Dire, indie soul with the Leiho Trio, pop-rock with The Ludes and Utopic Combo, gypsy jazz with the Fingers duo, electro-pop with HEOD, blues with Acoustic Blues Project, as well as circus and street theater performances with Déchet'Circus and the WonderKaline company.
In 2024, the program was enriched with the Harmonie-fanfare de Baule and its 40 musicians to open, funk and zouk sounds with La Peau du Zouk, salsa and bolero with El Machete Trio, afro-folk and blues with the Malick Diaw Quartet, and a memorable closing with the Bak Brass Band, La Belle Image, and the Accords'Léon.
The 2025 edition opened with Blackfoxy, a soul-funk band founded by Klaus Blasquiz, legendary singer of Magma, and closed with the Fanfare Saugrenue and Bomka.
Each guinguette evening, a selection of local food trucks complements the offerings with varied dishes depending on the night: Breton crepes, crispy pizzas, stir-fried noodles, gourmet hot dogs, fresh salads, and sweet desserts. The bar, managed in particular by La Compagnie des Petites Miettes, offers cold drinks and a friendly atmosphere by the water.
La Petite Luciole operates thanks to the commitment of volunteers and the support of the cultural action department of the City of Chécy. Tables, chairs, and shaded areas are provided for the public to fully enjoy these open-air evenings. The site is accessible to people with reduced mobility and has parking and restrooms.
With its free admission, generous programming, and exceptional natural setting on the banks of the Loire, La Petite Luciole embodies the spirit of a popular and warm guinguette, a place for sharing, meeting, and relaxing in the heart of Chécy's summer.
The 4th edition of La Petite Luciole will take place from July 4 to August 29, 2026, at the Pâtures leisure center in Chécy. The guinguette will once again offer free concerts and shows on Fridays and Saturdays from 7 PM to 11 PM, with an eclectic program on the banks of the Loire.
