2016 Edition: Blues Travels from Oraison to New Orleans
On Saturday, May 21, 2016, the festival offered a day rich in musical discoveries, unfolding in three key moments across Oraison.
Afternoon — Place du Kiosque
Starting at 4:00 PM, the Hat Man Session opened the festivities with a free concert on the Place du Kiosque, featuring Nasser Ben Dadoo and Marko Balland, two French artists passionate about authentic blues.
Late Afternoon — In Front of the Eden
At 6:00 PM, Le Bardi Manchot took over for a free concert in front of the Salle de l'Eden, accompanied by the traditional barbecue party with a bar and grills in a festive and relaxed atmosphere.
Evening — Salle de l'Eden
At 8:30 PM, the evening concert brought together two exceptional acts. The American artist Luke Winslow-King, a guitarist and singer based in New Orleans, offered a roots blues infused with folk, jazz, and country, followed by the legendary Nine Below Zero, a British blues rock band formed in 1977, known for their stage energy and fiery harmonica.
The “Chocolat Show” exhibition by Jorge Ramirez, consisting of acrylic paintings, was once again presented outside the Salle de l'Eden.
