22nd edition of Regards d'Ailleurs dedicated to Brazil. Nearly 50 films, masterclasses by Walter Salles and Camila Pitanga, exhibition of Rio Carnival costumes at the Chapelle de l'Hôtel-Dieu.
22nd Edition - Destination Brazil
The 22nd edition of Regards d'Ailleurs took audiences on a journey to Brazil from March 5th to April 2nd, 2025. Sunny colors, samba rhythms, and joie de vivre filled the festival for a month.
Nearly 50 different films were screened at CinéCentre, Auditorium Rotrou, and Théâtre de Dreux. Director Walter Salles, winner of the Oscar for Best Foreign Language Film for "Central Station", gave a masterclass on March 29th at the Théâtre. Brazilian actress Camila Pitanga, UN Women Goodwill Ambassador, led a masterclass on March 8th for International Women's Rights Day.
The inaugural exhibition "The Fabulous Rio Carnival", featuring 14 traditional costumes from the samba schools, was displayed at the Chapelle de l'Hôtel-Dieu until April 2nd. The opening night at CinéCentre featured a screening of Marcel Camus's Black Orpheus at 8 PM.
