1st Edition — Birth of the first jazz festival in Savenay
In November 2016, the association Le Verbe Figuré launched an ambitious project: to create the first jazz festival in Savenay. Over four days, from November 3 to 6, the Équinoxe hall and the CinéNova cinema hosted more than a dozen musical performances offering a varied panorama of classic and contemporary jazz.
Pianist Amaury Faye inaugurated the festival, also performing in a four-hand duo with Thibaud Dufoy. The program included the Alyss Kalbez Trio, Kat'Chapo (gypsy jazz outdoors), La Fille du Canal (gypsy jazz), the Holy Totsy Gang (New Orleans jazz), the Fredj Trio, The Fifties Sound (François Le Roux and Édouard Heller), the Deep River Voices, and La Boîte à Musique from the Savenay music school.
