Over 600 volunteer actors and 50 horsemen brought 1,000 years of history back to life for thousands of spectators in the illuminated park of the castle. 2025 Edition: The Magic Continues
For the summer of 2025, the Son et Lumière du Château de Saint-Fargeau held its performances from July 11 to August 23, every Friday and Saturday evening. True to its tradition of over forty years, the show mobilized over 600 volunteers from all over Puisaye and the surrounding villages, joined by 50 horsemen and their mounts.
Spectators were able to discover or rediscover the major scenes of the historical fresco: Héribert's hunt in a nocturnal gallop, the epic of Joan of Arc under spotlights, the knights' tournament with its spectacular sword fights, the arrival of the exiled La Grande Mademoiselle, the French Revolution and the vote for the king's death, before the final Liberation of 1944 in the presence of period military vehicles.
The 2025 edition also offered free access to the park from 7 PM, allowing visitors to meet costumed actors and horsemen, visit the stables, discover the military vehicle exhibition, and dine at the food trucks before the performance, which began at 10:30 PM in July and 10 PM in August.
