34th Edition — Great Black Music in All Its Diversity

The 34th edition of Sons d'Hiver, held from January 24 to February 15, 2025, placed Great Black Music at the heart of its programming. This ambitious thematic focus allowed for the exploration of the entire spectrum of African-American music, from its blues and gospel roots to its contemporary ramifications in jazz, hip-hop, and electronic music.

With over 30 concerts spread across 15 partner venues in the Val-de-Marne territory, the 2025 edition confirmed the festival's vitality and reach, retaining some 25,000 spectators throughout the program.

Programming

The concerts featured a mix of established figures from the international jazz scene and emerging artists representing new forms of expression inheriting from Great Black Music. Workshops and meetings complemented the concert program, allowing festival-goers to deepen their discovery of these musical aesthetics.
