Edition 2022 — Théâtre sur l'Herbe
The 17th edition of the Théâtre sur l'Herbe festival was held from June 24 to 26, 2022, in the Parc du Château de l'Étang in Saran, marking the event's return after a five-year absence (the last edition was in 2017). This major artistic and poetic gathering offered three days of open-air and indoor performances: circus, street theater, dance, music, exhibitions, and participatory experiences, all with free access for an intergenerational audience.
17th Edition — The Grand Return
After a five-year hiatus — the last edition was in 2017, followed by interruptions due to the Covid-19 pandemic — the Théâtre sur l'Herbe festival made its grand return from June 24 to 26, 2022. Patrice Douchet, artistic director of Théâtre de la Tête Noire, emphasized that this highly anticipated festival "draws a wide audience" and provides both the public and artists "the opportunity and pleasure of reconnecting.".
This 17th edition placed the environment at the heart of its concerns, integrating an eco-responsible charter from the stage to catering. The festival encouraged reflection on the place of art in nature while offering a festive and accessible program for everyone.
Outdoor and tent performances, circus, itinerant theater, dance, music, puppetry, fire shows, and participatory experiences punctuated three days of festivities in the green park of the Château de l'Étang.
