Festival of contemporary music and street arts in Mayenne
Created in 2015 by the association Tribu Familia, Un Singe en Été is a festival of contemporary music and street arts held annually on the last weekend of June in the Parc du Château de Mayenne. Multidisciplinary and focused on discovery, it blends eclectic concerts, stage performances, and hybrid artistic proposals in a heritage setting by the river. The festival champions a bold program, highlighting emerging artists and unclassifiable forms where music, visual arts, and live performance intersect.
Since 2015, the Un Singe en Été festival has established itself as a must-attend event for contemporary music in the Mayenne region. Organized by the association Tribu Familia, it takes over the Parc du Château de Mayenne each year, a remarkable heritage site by the river, to offer two days of concerts, performances, and artistic encounters on the last weekend of June.
The uniqueness of Un Singe en Été lies in its program that rejects genre boundaries. Independent rock, electro, hip-hop, experimental pop, world music, folk, and unclassifiable stage performances share the stage across the festival's various areas. The commitment is clear: to highlight emerging artists and unique artistic proposals, where the lines between disciplines blur in favor of raw emotion and discovery.
The Parc du Château de Mayenne provides an exceptional backdrop for the festival. Several areas punctuate the experience: the open-air concert stages, the Château stage inaugurated in partnership with the Musée du Château de Mayenne for more intimate formats — DJ sets, short performances, and hybrid projects — as well as the Chill Zone, a space for relaxation and discovery. The warm atmosphere and the festival's human scale foster proximity between artists and festival-goers.
Un Singe en Été upholds strong environmental and social commitments. The festival prioritizes short supply chains and local products for its catering, with stands like L'Imotep (organic and local vegetarian world cuisine) and La Kantauch (artisanal nomadic cuisine based on Mayenne products). The payment system is entirely cashless, free drinking water stations are available, and reusable cups are encouraged. The festival also engages in year-round cultural activities in the Mayenne Communauté territory, including creative workshops with the Conservatory and training in collective catering.
Since its first edition in 2015, Un Singe en Été has continuously grown and reinvented itself. Many renowned artists have performed their early shows here before conquering a wider audience: Étienne de Crécy, French 79, Yuksek, Hervé, Arnaud Rebotini, and Favé and Kévin Morby have marked past editions. In 2025, the 11th edition brought together an ever-larger audience with artists like Warhaus, This Is The Kit, Zombie Zombie, and Boston Bun. The 2026 edition promises an equally exciting lineup with Shame, Maureen, Tramhaus, Myra, and Alma Rechtman.
The 12th edition of Un Singe en Été will take place on June 26 and 27, 2026, in the Parc du Château de Mayenne. The festival continues its exploration of contemporary music and hybrid artistic forms with a program that promises to be rich in discoveries, featuring artists such as Shame, Maureen, Tramhaus, Myra, Alma Rechtman, Magi Merlin, Kalika, Coline Rio, Changeline, and Antilogic.
The Un Singe en Été festival returns for its 12th edition on June 26 and 27, 2026, at the Parc du Château de Mayenne. True to its DNA of discovery and eclecticism, the festival promises a weekend of contemporary music, performances, and artistic encounters in the enchanting setting of the castle by the Mayenne river.
The 2026 lineup promises to be exciting with artists from diverse universes. Friday will feature Maureen, Kalika, Myra, Magi Merlin, Changeline, and Antilogic. Saturday will be marked by the presence of Shame (British post-punk), Coline Rio, Tramhaus, and Alma Rechtman. The Chill Zone and the Château stage will complete the program with more intimate formats.
In the lead-up to the festival, cultural activities are being carried out in the region: an ephemeral creation with Johannes and the Conservatoire de Mayenne Communauté, as well as training in collective and vegetarian catering with Les Possibles in "La Cuisine de Léa".
