Edition 2026 — Univerciné à l'Est

The 2026 edition of Univerciné à l'Est was held from February 3 to 8, 2026, at the Katorza cinema in Nantes. The festival featured a selection of films from the Caucasus, Central Asia, the Baltic States, and Eastern Europe, including the opening film Renovation by Gabrielė Urbonaité and a masterclass dedicated to Blueberry Dreams with director Elene Mikaberidze.

Univerciné à l'Est 2026

The 2026 edition of the Univerciné à l'Est festival took place from February 3 to 8, 2026, at the Katorza cinema in Nantes, the third part of the 2025-2026 Univerciné season.

Opening Film

The festival opened with Renovation by Lithuanian director Gabrielė Urbonaité, screened in the presence of the lead actress.

Official Competition

The films in the official competition were:

  • Beauty and the Lawyer
  • Holy Electricity
  • Abel
  • Renovation

The films were judged by the student jury of the University of Nantes, trained in film criticism throughout the academic year.

Masterclass

A masterclass dedicated to the film Blueberry Dreams was led by Georgian director Elene Mikaberidze on February 7, 2026, offering the audience an in-depth look at the film's creative process.
