14th Edition: Jazz in All Its Dimensions

For its 14th edition, the Voiron Jazz Festival presented an ambitious and eclectic program from March 20 to April 5, 2025. With 9 concerts in the IN program, the festival explored jazz in all its forms, from explosive fusion jazz to soul-funk, including world music and tributes to the great masters of the genre.

Program Highlights

The opening was entrusted to Buck on March 20, an ensemble led by Nicolas Beaume, blending rock energy, improvising brass, and psychedelic guitars in music described as explosive and cinematic. The next day, the Big Band de Fontaine, accompanied by singer David Linx, paid a vibrant tribute to Claude Nougaro through original big band arrangements.

On March 22, Caja Negra, led by Pierre Bertrand, fused jazz and flamenco while exploring the musical treasures of the Middle East and Duke Ellington's famous Far East Suite. The following day, the Abraham Réunion siblings (Zacharie on double bass, Cynthia on vocals, Clélya on piano), accompanied by drummer Arnaud Dolmen, offered music blending jazz and Caribbean roots.

On March 26, Nötile invited the audience on an exploratory and contemplative sound journey, led by saxophone and bass clarinet. On March 28, the Amsterdam brass band Gallowstreet set the venue ablaze with their brass anthems over carefully arranged harmonies.

On March 29, the Gam'Lov'Vibes project combined the Balinese gamelan from the Voiron Conservatory with the Pays Voironnais Orchestra and contemporary composers, in a unique creation blending traditional percussion and orchestral music.

On April 3, the Wayne Shorter Legacy paid tribute to the legendary saxophonist with the exceptional participation of Ravi Coltrane. Finally, the closing evening on April 5 brought together Kinga Glyk and Electro Deluxe for an explosive finale between jazz fusion and soul-funk.
