Au Pont du Rock — Malestroit Independent Rock Festival

35th Edition: An Anniversary Marked by Musical Diversity

For its 35th anniversary, Au Pont du Rock took over the Espace Maurice Melois on August 1st and 2nd, 2025, offering 22 bands on 3 stages. The edition brought together 17,500 festival-goers over the two days — 7,400 on Friday and 10,100 on Saturday — confirming the audience's attachment to this Breton summer event despite a challenging economic context for independent festivals.

The lineup celebrated eclecticism, the hallmark of Au Pont du Rock. L'Impératrice, with their irresistible groove, and The Libertines, legends of British indie rock, shared the bill with Mass Hysteria, an institution of French metal, Gazo and Poto Rico for rap, Hoshi in French pop, and The Avener in electro. Fatoumata Diawara, an icon of contemporary Malian culture, and The Murder Capital, an Irish post-punk band making their Breton debut, brought a remarkable international dimension.

Discoveries were also featured with Dynamite Shakers, Maddy Street, The Dead Krazukies, and Freedom Utopia, while Miossec, a local Breton artist, and Caballero & JeanJass completed a particularly rich and varied lineup.

Despite attendance falling short of the break-even threshold of 20,000 entries, the Aux Arts Etc association bounced back by organizing a support concert called “Rebranche les amplis” (Reconnect the Amps) on November 21st and 22nd at the Malestroit sports complex, featuring Miossec, Ko Ko Mo, Cachemire, and Deportivo, thus ensuring the festival's continuity.
