Rock, metal and motorcycle festival on the banks of the Loire in Haute-Loire
Aurec'n Roll is a rock, metal, and biker culture festival organized annually in Aurec-sur-Loire, Haute-Loire, just ten minutes from Saint-Étienne. Created around 2010 by the ANR (Aurec'N Roll) association, the event takes place outdoors on the banks of the Loire, at Parc de la Liberté. For two days, the festival offers rock and metal concerts, motorcycle exhibitions (choppers, café racers, customs), food stalls, camping, and numerous activities in an exceptional natural setting along the Loire.
In Aurec-sur-Loire, a small town in Haute-Loire nestled in the Loire gorges just ten minutes from Saint-Étienne, the Aurec'n Roll festival annually makes the riverbanks vibrate to the sounds of rock and metal. Born from the passion of a group of musicians and bikers united within the ANR association (Aurec'N Roll), the event has become over the years an unmissable gathering for lovers of powerful music and beautiful mechanics in the department.
What sets Aurec'n Roll apart from other festivals in the region is its hybrid identity, blending concerts and biker culture. The musical programming covers a wide spectrum ranging from rock'n'roll to heavy metal, including punk, hard rock, and stoner. Each edition hosts between six and ten bands over two days, featuring renowned national acts and groups from the local and regional scene.
Over the years, the festival has hosted prestigious headliners such as Vulcain, pioneers of French speed metal, Nightmare (AFM Records), a major figure in French power metal, Heavylution (Brennus Music), Korrosiah (M&O Music), as well as numerous emerging bands like Freaky Hollers, Cold Cash, Black Rose, Xtranova, Overlord, and Reskapes.
Alongside the concerts, festival-goers can admire motorcycle exhibitions — choppers, café racers, bobbers, and customs — which delight enthusiasts of beautiful mechanics. Stalls for food, merchandise, and crafts complete the offering, while a camping area allows visitors to fully enjoy the weekend.
The festival takes place at the Parc de la Liberté, on the banks of the Loire, offering a green and refreshing setting in the height of summer. Aurec-sur-Loire, a town in the Loire Valley at the gateway to the Loire department and the Saint-Étienne metropolis, benefits from a remarkable natural environment between granite gorges and wooded hills. The festival site, easily accessible, allows festival-goers to enjoy a unique panorama of the river while attending the concerts.
The event actively contributes to the cultural influence of Aurec-sur-Loire and the local associative dynamic, proving that rural territories can host quality musical events in a friendly and accessible atmosphere for everyone.
Aurec'n Roll cultivates a family and festive spirit, driven by a team of passionate volunteers. Prices remain affordable to allow as many people as possible to discover the rock and metal scene in a warm environment. The festival embodies the rock'n'roll spirit in its most authentic form: music, mechanics, conviviality, and freedom, all on the majestic banks of the Loire.
