Rendez-vous au Manoir: Art and Heritage in Belledonne

Rendez-vous au Manoir! is a festival organized by the association Scènes obliques, a cultural structure located in the mountains. The event takes place at the Manoir de Vaubonnais, a 16th-century building listed as a Historic Monument, located in La Pierre, in the Grésivaudan valley, 20 minutes from Grenoble and 30 minutes from Chambéry.

A Place Steeped in History

The Manoir de Vaubonnais is a square-plan building flanked by a circular tower, built in the early 16th century, with a remarkable layout of outbuildings on either side of the courtyard. The festival accompanies the initial restorations of this heritage building, inviting artists to inhabit the courtyard, walls, windows, and gardens to reveal the invisible: the past, the future, the elsewhere.

A Multidisciplinary and Demanding Program

Rendez-vous au Manoir! offers a series of emblematic public events reflecting the spirit of the International Mountain Cultural Space, driven by a desire for artistic excellence, disciplinary eclecticism, and accessibility for all. The program blends live performances, shared creations, and visual arts along with moments of conviviality. Each edition invites companies and artists to create on-site, in dialogue with the architecture and history of the place.

Conviviality and Sharing

Beyond the performances, the festival offers opportunities for meeting and conviviality, with homemade light catering and a supper at the manor. These shared moments between artists, locals, and visitors are at the heart of the Scènes obliques project, which champions a vision of culture as a vector of social connection in mountain regions.

Strong Territorial Roots

Scènes obliques develops its activities in the mountain regions of Grésivaudan, Chartreuse, and Belledonne. The association organizes several events throughout the year, including the Rendez-vous au Manoir! festival and L'Esprit des Lieux. It promotes a unique approach to artistic creation, directly engaging with the landscapes, heritage, and inhabitants of the territories it invests.
