An animation festival for the whole family
Since 2016, the Coup de Projecteur festival has established itself as the unmissable event for animation cinema and digital arts in the Vichy urban area. Supported by the City of Bellerive-sur-Allier and primarily hosted at Le Geyser, a venue for shows and cultural activities, this young audience festival invites young and old to explore animation film in all its forms.
A rich and accessible program
Over its editions, Coup de Projecteur has considerably enriched its program. In addition to animation film screenings for all ages (from 3 years old), there have been cine-concerts, illustrated shows, musical tales, and numerous creative workshops: stop-motion, pixilation, cartoon drawing, optical toy making. Each session is designed to awaken children's curiosity and introduce them to the behind-the-scenes of animated creation.
The festival maintains a strong common thread: educating the eye, questioning our relationship with screens, transmitting values of tolerance, and accompanying the youngest in their discovery of images. Invited artists, often local and regional, share their passion through meetings and demonstrations accessible to all.
A more focused and dense 2026 edition
For its 11th edition (from February 14 to 24, 2026), the festival has chosen to concentrate its program over 10 days, offering a denser and more readable program. The goal: to allow families to have a complete experience in a single afternoon -- a workshop, a film, a show -- all mainly at Le Geyser. Among the highlights: the films Hola Frida!, Timioche, La Grande Rêvasion and Olivia, an illustrated concert with Monsieur Lune, the show Les Petits Bouquineurs and the illustrated tale Jean-Chat Voit Dans Le Noir.
Accessible prices
True to its family-friendly mission, the festival offers very accessible prices: 3 euros for a cinema screening, 5 to 6 euros for shows, and free workshops upon reservation. The Ferme-modèle Media Library complements the offering with free exhibitions and activities, reinforcing the cultural anchoring of this event in the life of the commune.
