FAT Festival - Targasonne Air Festival

A unique festival on an iconic site

The FAT — Festival de l'Air de Targasonne takes over the Thémis Solaire Innovation site at the end of each summer. This former solar power plant has become an innovation hub, perched at an altitude of 1,650 meters in Cerdagne. This spectacular location, recognized as one of the best paragliding spots in the world due to its exceptional aerodynamic conditions, offers a magnificent setting with panoramic views of the Pyrenees mountain range and the Carlit massif.

Free flight and aerial sensations

The heart of the festival beats to the rhythm of free flight. Tandem paragliding flights are offered at reduced prices thanks to the Appel d'Air club, allowing beginners to experience flying over the Targasonne plateau. Flight simulators, aerial demonstrations, and a traveling cinema dedicated to human and aerial adventures complete this immersion into the world of free flight.

A festive and family-friendly program

Beyond paragliding, the FAT features about forty stands bringing together local producers, artisans, and associations. Sports workshops — biathlon, zip-lining, mountain biking, climbing, trail running — liven up the day, while giant wooden games and environmental awareness workshops entertain the younger ones. Every evening, free concerts electrify the site: rock, blues, reggae, and world music follow one another in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere.

An eco-responsible commitment

Certified eco-responsible by the Regional Natural Park of the Catalan Pyrenees, the FAT is committed to environmentally friendly events. Waste sorting, reusable cups, short supply chains for catering, and public awareness about the preservation of mountain environments are at the core of the festival's approach.
