The temple of cheese and wine in Compiègne

Each year, the Place Saint-Jacques in Compiègne transforms into a vast gourmet market for the Cheese and Wine Fair. This event, which has been running for over 35 years, has become a must-attend gathering for food lovers in the Oise region and neighboring departments.

One hundred exhibitors and producers

Around 100 exhibitors and producers from all regions of France set up on the Place Saint-Jacques for two days of tasting and direct sales. Visitors can discover and purchase an incredible variety of cheeses — Comté, Roquefort, Camembert, Brie, Maroilles, goat cheeses, alpine cheeses — as well as wines from all French appellations.

Beyond cheese and wine

The fair is not limited to cheeses and wines. Many producers offer charcuterie, pâtés, honey, jams, olive oils, artisanal bread, spices, and other regional products that complement a rich gastronomic offering.

Free tastings

One of the fair's major advantages is the opportunity to taste products offered by exhibitors for free. This generosity allows visitors to discover new flavors and make informed purchases from producers.

Activities and conviviality

Volunteers welcome visitors at the refreshment stand to offer them raclette sandwiches and crêpes, creating a warm and friendly atmosphere. A mini-train shuttle connects the various city parking lots to the fairgrounds, making it easier for visitors to access.

A historic setting

The Place Saint-Jacques, in the heart of Compiègne's historic center, offers an elegant architectural setting for this gourmet fair. A short walk from the Imperial Palace, the Town Hall, and the Compiègne Forest, visitors can extend their day by discovering the city's rich heritage.

Cheese Fair — edition 2026
