The urban music festival powered by Niort's youth
Born in 2025 from a student initiative, the Fest N Zic Festival is an urban music event entirely conceived and organized by young people from Niort. For three days in April, the festival takes over several venues and locations in Niort — La Caña, Le Camji, and ØX Taverne — to offer a lineup blending emerging artists and established talents from the rap, R&B, afrobeat, and urban electronic music scenes. Between free concerts in bars and special evening events in venues, Fest N Zic embodies the dynamism and creativity of the young music scene in the Deux-Sèvres region.
The Fest N Zic Festival was born from an ambitious project: that of communication-information students in Niort who decided to create an urban music festival from scratch to energize the local scene. Launched in April 2025, this event immediately established itself as a platform for today's and tomorrow's artists, offering a showcase for emerging talents from the Deux-Sèvres and Nouvelle-Aquitaine regions.
Fest N Zic's originality lies in its multi-venue format: the festival unfolds across three emblematic venues of Niort's nightlife and cultural scene. La Caña, a bar-restaurant on Boulevard Main, hosts the opening concerts in a warm and intimate atmosphere. Le Camji, a contemporary music venue labeled SMAC, provides a professional setting for the headliners. The ØX Taverne offers rap showcases and DJ sets in an underground atmosphere.
Fest N Zic's programming embraces the full diversity of contemporary urban music. From rap to R&B, from afrobeat to urban pop, the festival blends genres and aesthetics with an open and discovery-oriented spirit. The first edition featured artists like Savage Toddy, Jaymee, A$ile, Caïpi, and the Mestica Social Club, while DJ sets and open mics allowed local artists to perform on stage.
Fest N Zic has opted for a mixed economic model: concerts at La Caña and ØX Taverne are free, allowing as many people as possible to discover the lineup, while the evenings at Le Camji are accessible via ticket sales, helping to fund the hosting of regional and national artists.
Building on the success of its first edition — with Le Camji selling out on the first night — Fest N Zic is now a fixture on Niort's cultural calendar. The festival helps establish Niort as a city for urban music, alongside the Festival En Vie Urbaine which enlivens summers, by offering a spring event dedicated to new urban sounds.
The 2nd edition of the Fest N Zic Festival will take place on April 16, 2026, at Le Camji in Niort. After the success of the first edition which sold out, the festival returns for a highly anticipated evening dedicated to urban music.
Building on the resounding success of its first edition, the Fest N Zic Festival returns on April 16, 2026, at Le Camji in Niort for its second edition. After selling out in 2025, the festival confirms its place in the Niort music scene.
The full lineup will be announced in the weeks leading up to the event. The festival will continue its mission as a platform for emerging urban music artists.
