The premier choral and symphonic festival of Nouvelle-Aquitaine
Since 1995, the Les Coréades d'Automne festival has been the essential event for choral and symphonic music in Nouvelle-Aquitaine. Supported by CoRéAM (Regional Collective of Musical Activities), this touring festival visits the region's finest churches and concert venues every autumn, from La Rochelle to Poitiers, including Niort, Angoulême, and Surgères.
Under the artistic direction of Jean-Yves Gaudin, Les Coréades brings together the Ensemble Choral Régional du CoRéAM, the Chorus 17 choir from La Rochelle, the Accords Libres ensemble from Mérignac, and the Rousse State Opera Orchestra (Bulgaria), a loyal partner from 1996 to 2024. Each edition is built around a major choral and symphonic work from the classical or romantic repertoire, such as Verdi's Requiem or Carl Orff's Carmina Burana.
Beyond the concerts, CoRéAM pursues a fundamental mission of training and transmission. The association encourages the discovery of music for all audiences and trains amateur singers under professional guidance. Les Coréades is the result of a collective effort involving over a hundred passionate volunteer choristers, united by a demanding and generous artistic vision.
The Coréades d'Automne 2026 will take place from September 23rd to October 12th, 2026, through a choral and symphonic concert tour organized by CoRéAM in Nouvelle-Aquitaine and Deux-Sèvres. The flagship program of this edition includes: Antonio Vivaldi's Gloria and Dixit Dominus, under the direction of Jean-Yves Gaudin, as well as Monteverdi & Bach evenings and chamber music.
From September 23rd to October 12th, 2026, the itinerant festival Les Coréades d'Automne, supported by CoRéAM (Collectif Régional d'Activités Musicales), offers a series of choral and symphonic concerts across Nouvelle-Aquitaine, Deux-Sèvres, and Charente-Maritime. Under the artistic direction of Jean-Yves Gaudin, CoRéAM's regional choral ensemble and its partners (Chorus 17, Ensemble Vocal Polymnie, ensemble Accords Libres de Mérignac) perform in several churches and venues in the region.
