About Alimenterre Festival in Charente-Maritime
The Alimenterre festival brings a national series of film screenings and debates focused on sustainable and fair global food systems to Charente-Maritime. Every autumn, documentaries covering agriculture, food sovereignty, and the working conditions of producers are screened in La Rochelle, Aunis, and on the Île de Ré, followed by discussions with local organizations, farmers, and researchers.
The local edition is coordinated by the Collectif Actions Solidaires (CAS17), which brings together various La Rochelle-based associations, with regional support from RADSI Nouvelle-Aquitaine and national coordination from the CFSI, the organization behind the Alimenterre festival.

To mark the 20th anniversary of the national festival, Charente-Maritime is hosting ten documentaries focused on agriculture, sustainable fishing, and the right to food, running from October 12 to November 30, 2026. Over twenty-five screenings will take place in La Rochelle, Aunis, on the Île de Ré, and throughout the rest of the department, each followed by a discussion. The launch event takes place on October 12 at the Maison de l'étudiant with the film "Ébullition".
The Collectif Actions Solidaires is coordinating this edition alongside various associations, businesses, market gardeners, community hubs, schools, and local authorities, each organizing their own screenings. The lineup includes: "Ébullition", "Insecticide", "Au fil de l'eau", "Au nom de la mer", "Femmes des Terres", "Reclaiming Cocoa", "Outre-mer, terres de solutions", "Pilleurs de terre", and "Être(s) vivants", plus "Paludiers… au féminin" in Saint-Martin-de-Ré. A solidarity meal, the "Grand Banquet", is scheduled for November 18.
