About Writing Festival

Every October since 2014, the Festival des écritures has brought together writers and readers in Surgères. The En Avant Première association, which hosts year-round writing workshops for its members, organizes this event to connect the public with authors through workshops, exhibitions, and performances held at various city landmarks: the media library, the Palace, the Tivoli on Place de l'Europe, and the Micro-Folie.

The core concept remains the same each year: to showcase all forms of writing, from novels and comic books to poetry and haikus. Rather than focusing on a single headliner, the festival offers around twenty events spread over four days.
