Celebration of the Marennes-Oléron oyster, from the tide to the plate
The Fêtes de l'Ostra celebrate the Marennes-Oléron oyster, a gastronomic jewel of France's leading oyster-farming basin. Created to mark the 50th anniversary of the Marennes-Oléron appellation, these festivals bring together producers, chefs, the curious, and enthusiasts for a complete iodized experience, from the tide to the plate.
The festivities include culinary demonstrations by renowned chefs who reveal subtle pairings between oysters and local flavors, guided tours of oyster farms, oyster opening workshops, and marine ecosystem discovery for all ages. The evening concludes with a free concert by Sanseverino in an authentic setting of oyster huts, jetties, fish traps, and illuminated marshes.
New edition of the festival celebrating the Marennes-Oléron oyster and oyster farming know-how.
