A performing arts festival in the heart of the Alsatian vineyard

Organized by the Festi'Bal' association from the mid-2000s, the Festi Bal d'Eguisheim — initially known as Festi'bal des Vendanges — offered an original artistic project every autumn in the enchanting setting of Eguisheim, a circular village classified among the Plus Beaux Villages de France and voted France's Favorite Village in 2013. Over the editions, it had established itself as a key event of the cultural season in Haut-Rhin, blending music, dance, circus, theater, and street arts.

An eclectic and generous program

The strength of the Festi Bal lay in the diversity of its program. Each edition unfolded a multi-day program, combining concerts of varied aesthetics — blues, hip-hop, funk, brass band, world music, jazz, swing — with contemporary circus shows, popular dances, itinerant parades, and dance performances. The festival emphasized discovery, inviting companies and artists from all over France and abroad, particularly from Switzerland, to perform in the medieval setting of Eguisheim.

A strong commitment to young audiences

The Festi Bal gave an essential place to the youngest. Shows specially designed for toddlers (from 18 months) and children punctuated each edition: puppet theater, dance workshops, bubble shows, circus entertainment, and storytelling. This attention to young audiences made it a family event.

La Salle des Marronniers, the beating heart of the festival

La Salle des Marronniers, a cultural space located on Rue des Trois Châteaux in Eguisheim, was the main venue for the festival. This multi-purpose hall hosted evening concerts and shows. But the Festi Bal was not confined to a single location: the village streets and squares transformed into open-air stages for circus parades, itinerant shows, and free entertainment.

The end of an adventure

After about ten editions, the Festi Bal d'Eguisheim stopped: its last documented edition was the 13th, in autumn 2016. Since then, no new edition has been announced and the event no longer appears in the municipality's cultural program. If a new edition were ever to be organized, this page would be updated accordingly.
