Festi'Lubi: two days of contemporary music in the heart of Champigny-sur-Marne
Festi'Lubi is the flagship festival of the association LUBI — Musiques Actuelles, founded in Champigny-sur-Marne (94500) to support and promote contemporary musicians in all their stylistic diversity. Rooted in the associative and cultural fabric of the town, the festival is held every spring at the Centre Jean Vilar (52 rue Pierre Marie Derrien, 94500 Champigny-sur-Marne), a multi-purpose venue that transforms into a true temple of contemporary music for the duration of the festival.
LUBI: an association serving today's musicians
The association LUBI — Musiques Actuelles was founded with a simple and strong conviction: contemporary musicians, whether amateur or semi-professional, deserve a space to perform in front of an audience, develop their artistic project, and be part of a collective dynamic. Since its creation, LUBI has organized concerts and musical evenings throughout the year in Champigny-sur-Marne, maintaining a lively connection with the local and regional music scene.
Festi'Lubi is the annual highlight. For two days, it brings together bands with diverse aesthetics on the same stage — rock, pop, soul, funk, electro, indie — in a festival spirit that combines musical discovery and collective celebration. The programming intentionally mixes local bands from Champigny-sur-Marne and artists from all over the Île-de-France region, creating contrasting and energetic evenings.
An eclectic and demanding lineup
Each edition of Festi'Lubi builds an eclectic lineup that reflects the richness of current music scenes. The 2022 edition, held on April 1st and 2nd at the Centre Jean Vilar, brought together a remarkable selection: Von Pariahs (alternative rock), Julien Bitoun & The Angels (soul rock), La Cafetera Roja (Latin pop), Toybloïd (indie pop), Nico Chona and The Freshtones (blues funk), and Gurl (electronic pop). This stylistic diversity, reflecting LUBI's eclectic musical programming, is the festival's trademark.
In 2023, LUBI also organized a festival to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the association, marking a decade of support for contemporary music in Champigny-sur-Marne. This anniversary confirmed the central place the association holds in the musical life of the area.
Champigny-sur-Marne, fertile ground for contemporary music
Champigny-sur-Marne is a town of over 75,000 inhabitants with a dense network of associations and a genuine culture of contemporary music. The City of Champigny supports LUBI and Festi'Lubi as essential players in the local cultural dynamic. The Centre Jean Vilar, a multifunctional and popular venue in the town, offers the festival a setting that is both accessible and friendly, conducive to musical discoveries in a warm and relaxed atmosphere.
