Anjou Loir et Sarthe Festival: Street Arts Celebration in Seiches-sur-le-Loir

Every spring, the town of Seiches-sur-le-Loir hosts the Anjou Loir et Sarthe Festival, a festive and free event entirely dedicated to street arts. Organized by the Anjou Loir et Sarthe Community of Communes, this festival has become, in just a few editions, a highlight of cultural life in the northeast of Anjou.

A Weekend of Free Shows

The festival takes place over a full weekend, usually at the end of May, with performances from Saturday afternoon to Sunday evening. Admission is completely free and the program is designed for all audiences: families, children, teenagers, and adults will find suitable offerings. In 2025, for its 5th edition, the festival welcomed 8 street arts companies offering street theater, circus, musical performances, puppets, clowning, and itinerant performances.

An Original Artistic Scenography

The originality of the Anjou Loir et Sarthe Festival lies in its scenography, entrusted each year to a visual artist. In 2025, artist Angélique Cormier created impressive installations of giant origami that transformed the town center of Seiches-sur-le-Loir into a poetic and spectacular setting. This visual dimension gives the festival a strong identity and enhances the spectator experience.

Street Arts, Ball, and Guinguette

Beyond the shows by invited companies, the festival offers a participatory ball on Saturday evening, led by musicians, followed by a DJ set. The guinguette set up in the Parc des Vallées welcomes festival-goers in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. A book market and surprise activities dot the streets and squares, inviting the public to wander and discover.

A Festival Rooted in its Territory

The Anjou Loir et Sarthe Festival is the result of a proactive cultural policy by the Community of Communes, which aims to bring street arts to life in its territory and offer its residents free access to quality performances. The invited companies — Big Joanna, Le Guichet, Les Trimardeurs, La Contrebande, Tadour, Le Jardin des délices, and others — are selected for their ability to create connection, surprise, and joy in public spaces.
